Next Lincoln Navigator to drop V8 in favor of V6, but Ford Expedition might get both

Persistant rumor is that (and keep in mind that this is not official) the C8 will have a twin-turbo V6....possibly as a mid-engine design.
^^ I'm all for V8, but keep in mind guys the original C1 (1953) had an Inline 6. A V8 option did not appear until 1955.
Yes, the C1 was a joke. It had a standard 150 HP Chevy Stovebolt 6 (nicknamed Blue Flame) and a two-speed AUTOMATIC transmission. No other powertrain combinations were available until Ford trumped it with the original two-seat Thunderbird in 1955.

Care for New Pics, Videos and MPG Figures of 2015 Lincoln Navigator Facelift?
The Blue Oval wasn't quite ready yet for a new iteration of the Lincoln Navigator so it did what most automakers do in its place to boost sales: it gave its full-size SUV a nip-and-tuck.
Lincoln actually first showed the 2015 Navigator in January, having released pricing in March, but it won’t go on sale until later this year, so today, it dropped another crop of photos and videos, while also announcing fuel economy figures.
There's only one engine available, a 375hp 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 connected to a six-speed auto with the option of all-wheel drive.
Naturally, the most efficient version is the regular wheelbase RWD (4x2) model that returns an EPA estimated 16mpg city, 22mpg highway and 18mpg combined. The fuel economy numbers for the other editions of the Navigator are:
Regular wheelbase 4x4: 15 city/20 hwy/17 combined mpg
Long wheelbase 4x2: 15 city/20 hwy/17 combined mpg
Long wheelbase 4x4: 15 city/19 hwy/16 combined mpg
Along with the new EcoBoost engine that replaces the 310hp 5.4-liter V8, for 2015, the Navigator also gained redesigned front and rear ends, a new dashboard, tweaked chassis and a fresh assortment of equipment features.
Prices start from $62,475, including destination and handling. The Navigator's prime rival is GM's Cadillac Escalade.

I certainly like the new looks and I like the interior. I think it looks very elegant.
It makes sense to V6 this SUV. Kudos for Lincoln trying hard and doing something differentwhile the others keep their V8s.
