I pay 40k for loaded Kia that in 4 years resale value will be in the dump (ie. ~15k) versus I pay 40k for a loaded Rav4 that in 4 years will have a resale value close to ~22k.
The math speaks for itself.
you're living in the past. regardless, there's no way to know what resale values will be like 4 years from now. also, the kia is bigger and has a TON more features than the rav4. the rav4 has 4 banger only. sorrento offers 4 banger or v6. rav4 is port injection. sorrento is direct injection, offers ventilated seats...
not saying the rav4 is bad, it's great and very focused to its target market! it's kinda a camry cuv.

he is kind of right and wrong... first this is more like Highlander than Rav4, then you cant get Rav4 for 40k anyway and we end up with this being so dated looking that it will likely lose its value more than Rav4 :-).
Santa Fe is very different though and much better choice than this.
