Honda Urban SUV concept leaks
Images of the Honda Urban SUV Concept, which is set to make its official debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, has been leaked onto the Internet revealing the likely crossover variant for the Honda Fit.
The leaked images reveal a crossover with a mix-mash of styling from current Honda and Acura SUVs and crossovers. The front end certainly takes more inspiration from the CR-V than a Fit, while the side profile is reminiscent of Acura’s luxury crossovers.
Overall, the design continues in Honda’s recent tradition of being more conservative than extreme or ground breaking. We’ll reserve judgment until we see the real deal at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.

if the wheels make production, burn it on site.

Not bad looking, but I don't see enough difference from the CRV. No question Honday needs a new model that gives the company further credibility and puts them back on the "must have" map.

Honda even makes boring show cars. Tone that down 20% (remove the headlights, huge wheels, and the side sculpting; add in usable bumpers which extend past the lighting elements) and you'll get a rather pedestrian looking Honda.

Honda Urban SUV concept previews Fit-based crossover
Click here to view live photo gallery
We've been hearing a lot of rumblings this year about a new crossover based on the Honda Fit, and now we finally get to see what this B-segment CUV might look like. Called the Urban SUV Concept, Honda's new small crossover has made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show, but we'll have to wait until 2014 to see the production version on sale in the US. Honda says the production version of this concept, whatever it will be called, will slot below the CR-V in terms of size and price.
In terms of this concept's styling, there is plenty of the new Honda Accord in its face, and it looks like a more rugged version of the Nissan Juke, as well as a more practical alternative to the Hyundai Veloster. With its short overhangs, the concept measures 169.3 inches in length, making it about eight inches longer than a Fit hatchback and nine inches shorter than the CR-V. Honda confirmed that its new crossover will debut a telematics system for Honda, and it will use one of Honda's new Earth Dreams engines; we previously reported that this engine would be a 1.5-liter I4 paired with a continuously variable transmission.
The next-generation Fit is expected to debut before this new crossover model, and both models will be built at Honda's Celaya, Mexico assembly plant, which is scheduled to open early next year. A new sedan is also expected to round out the lineup of Fit-based products. For more information about this new Urban SUV Concept, scroll down for Honda's official press release.

Honda Urban SUV production version revealed via leaked patent photos
Due later this year
The production version of the Honda Urban SUV concept has been revealed through several leaked patent photos.
Honda unveiled the Urban SUV concept at the beginning of the year at NAIAS in Detroit and they said a production model derived from this concept will be launched in Japan before the end of 2013. This is the car Honda has been talking about and chances are it will be officially revealed later this November at the Tokyo Motor Show.
As you would imagine, the production crossover has been toned down significantly but still maintains many of the visual cues and overall has an appealing design. The vehicle will be based on the Global Compact Series platform which was used by Honda for the current-gen City and Fit. The Japanese marque has confirmed the crossover will utilize Earth Dreams Technology and will boast a foldable rear seat to increase cargo capacity.

New Honda Vezel Small SUV Unveiled at Tokyo Show, will Come to Europe and the USA
Click here to view more photos
Honda revealed a new production model at the Tokyo Motor Show, which will be called Vezel on the Japanese market.
Previewed by the Urban SUV concept in Detroit earlier this year, the small crossover will arrive in the USA next year and in Europe during 2015, with the names of the European and North American specification models to be confirmed nearer to launch.
Featuring a coupe-like styling with hidden rear door handles and a sharp character line, the SUV looks like a cross between the Civic and the CR-V. When it launches in Japan on December 20, 2013, the Vezel will be available with two powertrains – a hybrid and a petrol model.
The hybrid model will be equipped with the Sport Hybrid i-DCD (Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive) that combines a 1.5-liter direct injection engine with a high output electric motor, while the petrol model will feature a 1.5-liter direct injection engine. Honda promises the two Vezel models will deliver both “dynamic driving character and excellent fuel economy”.

2015 Honda Vezel a Production Version of Urban SUV Concept
Honda took the covers off a new production utility vehicle in the Eastern Capital and it’s called the Vezel. It’s a product that promises to blend a variety of vehicular attributes into one right-sized package.
According to Honda the 2015 Vezel fuses the dynamic qualities of an SUV with the elegance of a coupe and the functionality of a minivan. It’s basically a production version of the company’s Urban SUV concept that was revealed back in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
It should provide a high-quality environment for front-seat riders with minivan-like elbowroom and comfort in the rear. It’s reported the Vezel is built on the same architecture as the Honda Fit.
In Japan, the launch market for this vehicle, customers have a choice of propulsion system. They can opt for either a gasoline-powered model or they can get one with a hybrid drivetrain.
The standard version is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder featuring direct fuel injection. The hybrid system takes advantage of that same engine and matches it with a high-output motor. The gasoline-electric version also features Honda’s i-DCD, which stands for Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive.
Add it all up, carry the three and try not to divide by zero, and either drivetrain combination should result in dynamic performance and excellent fuel economy, at least according to Honda. Unfortunately utput numbers have not been shared at this time.
More details about this vehicle will be released on December 19, though the Vezel will officially go on sale in Japan just one day later. How’s that for a close shave?
