Now in FL,there may be no issue due to warm weather.
I'm aware of the problem for some owners, I was just pointing out it didn't apply to all.

OP - 07 was the first year of the 3.5L. If it were me, i'd probably go private party for one with lower miles and pocket the savings. I don't believe that color combo is too hard to find, i also had it, and with the same mileage mine looked to be in much better condition than the picture posted here.

Ap1_Alan - what is it that you noticed in the pictures of this GS that shows it is not in a good condition compared to the one you purchased?

Then, there is the whole LS430 situation... Because of this fantastic forum and all the educated members sharing great info, I now kinda want the LS. Found a dark gray one with light gray interior and the cherry wood accents. Does not have Navi. It is certified like the GS is. 2006 is the model. Price is around 22k, which was lowered temporarily (not sure how much) through Jan 2nd. Here is link to this one...

The only drawbacks I can think of are that the LS does not have Navi and I am not a huge fan of the cherry wood thing... But, would you look past all that b/c of the overall quality of the LS? I have another car that goes fast, so that is not my major concern. I am 29 years old - finance type and want a solid reliable luxury daily driver. A couple friends told me that the LS is too much of an "old man's car" for what thats worth... I do not agree and personally could care less about other peoples opinions. However, members here I would like to know your opinions, so any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated. I look forward to officially joining the lex fam!!!

Cheers,

Joe
How many miles on the LS? If you can get an LS which is the same age or only 1 year older than the GS, I'd lean toward that. A 6-year old Nav system is NOT a reason to get one car over another. I like the stying of the '06 GS better than the LS 430--but the 2 cars aren't in the same class.

On the other hand, a 29 year old driving around in an LS seems out of place to me...

But ultimately, you are the one driving around in it--YOU have to be happy with your purchase.

You live in FL--why would you want the extra weight and gas consumption of AWD?

i would take the LS over the GS. I do think the price is a little high for both though.

If you decide on getting that LS, you could put your own double DIN navigation in it. I wasn't too impressed with the one in my 05.

Also, the LS is considered an old man's car, but the car is also status symbol. People will think you're rich with the LS. It's got a super classy look too.

The GS is more of a young person type of car. It's not as presidential as the LS but way sportier.

So it is relatively easy to just install navi in the LS? No big deal at all?

tex2670 - the LS has about 67K on it and it is an 06. The GS is one year newer as you said as an 07.

I can't say for sure since my LS has factory navigation. It looked easier on the models without navigation. There are some directions in the LS forum though.
