Yea, but longitudinally mounted looks so much cooler!

The trunk of an NSX is nice, but realistically you got to be careful with what you put back there. It gets REALLY HOT, since the engine is inches away.

I want this rumored Ford GT successor to get here quickly. All the players are starting to show their cards

This is definitely true. It looks much cooler and I bet it much easier to balance the car out. The trunk does get hot, but I haven't had too much problems with it. I don't carry around tofu or anything like that in the trunk though

not really, just like the gt-r shouldn't be, etc.

the lf-a is definitely exotic in many ways, with pretty much a racecar engine, transmission, and brakes, not to mention the very expensive carbon fiber.

but the latest news on this nsx is definitely more interesting than what sounded before like a pretty slow v6/hybrid deal.

to me they are all super performance cars so no problem discussing them all, i see no problem talking about how gtr goes against say 458 either

the new FI setup definitely make it a more attractive / interesting setup, i won't be surprised if they figured they have to do more since all the other competitors have upped their game a lot because of cars like gtr and lfa

what i am really interested in finding out is with this new nsx, its price point and its performance at debut compared to others, how attractive is it going to be

of course, driving feel and feedback is another big topic but i kind of consider it separate. after all, imho that's what really set off the lfa from other cars

Funny how two turbos can change people's perception of a car

It DOES feel like the 90's all over again! Too bad the price of admission looks to be $100k+ for these amazing cars. Back then, the Supra, RX-7 TT, 300ZX TT, 3000GT were what $40-50k tops and $70k for the NSX?

The heat comes from the exhaust underneath the trunk, not the engine. You can install a thermotec heat shield above the exhaust so that it doesn't get hot in the trunk. Here are pics of it done so that an aftermarket amp can be installed in place of the stock tool kit: http://www.nsxprime.com/photopost/g5...d-install.html

They didn't switch, it was bi-turbo all along.

If you take in account for inflation, 50k in 1993 is equal to 100k's today money, if not slightly more than 100k.

I was curious about this calculation and found this: http://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm

$60,000 in 1991

Has the same buying power as:

$102,883.70 in 2013
Pretty close!

Not impressed until I see the real production car prove itself in reality. They've flip flopped so many times on this project in true Honda fashion.

Also total LOL at their "aim" for the curb weight. Absolutely impossible, not going to happen.

The production car will likely weight close to 4000 lbs as was originally estimated by many enthusiasts.
