I am 36, married and a father of 3. Put my wife through college and she just graduated and got a job. First order of business is getting myself a car. Any info on haggling would be helpful.
haggling? lol - with a wife and 3 kids you must already be pretty good at it. or maybe not.
anyway, know what you want. don't show dealer you're excited. get offers from multiple dealers if possible. don't talk trade-in until you have new car priced. see what margin the dealer's making on the deal, haggle on that margin, and trade-in value when you get there. if you can't get much movement on price, maybe get accessories or something else (ext. warranty) 'thrown in' to make the deal. consider going last day of the month or quarter. last, be prepared to walk out. hth
