Need some help buying a new SUV!
Welp my dad's 2001 Escalade has finally crapped out at 320k miles. He's now looking for a mid-size to large SUV, fuel-efficient that can do the occasional jetski towing once or twice a year. We were looking at the Chevy Tahoe and Equinox. He is leaning towards something the size of the Equinox but my concern is will that be enough to tow a jetski 400 miles? Looking forward to your inputs and advice!

Escape, Equinox, CRV, Sorento, Santa-Fe, Tuscon, Sportage, pretty much any SUV will tow a Jet-ski.
For the money, and practicality, my vote goes to CRV for the smaller category, Mid-Sized is probably gonna be the Equinox or GMC Terrain (My wife and I LOVE the terrain), and Large vote gets Durango.
If looking at used, I highly reccomend Lexus RX, GX.

Any Crossover or SUV should be able to tow a jet-ski. For small crossover there are many nice ones out there, I prefer Kia Sportage and Ford Escape, followed by Mazda CX-5(which is a little underpowered since it has only a 2.0L NA I4). For mid-sizer I recommend Toyota Highlander and Kia Sorento(particularly SX) and wait for the upcoming Nissan Pathfinder(it is a looker in my opinion, sans the rough look).

As much as I like the looks of the Mitsu Outlander sport, I would stay far away from it...It is pretty underpowered. All the reviews I have read on it say it is extremely gutless.
Shame cause IMO its a good looking small SUV/Crossover thingy. just my .02.

Stick with a mid-size V6 if you need to tow. V8's are going to be guzzlers and four cylinders will be underpowered.

I found it drives better in every way than the sport. The sport is too small and remind me of the 1st gen Scion XB in terms of room and seats.
enough for 2 Jetskis
