Not a fair comparison though, you can't compare modded to stock.
Apply the exact same mods to a Veyron and it would make twice as much power, the Veyron's engine is pretty much 2 GTR's engine, or 4 EVO's engine. So with the same mods, it would make 2000+ hp and probably runs 7s.

You would be lucky to extract 10 more hp without breaking the engine.Do you realize how much is involved into getting 2000hp probably read a bit more about top fuel on wiki you will be surprised how much fuel is used not even close to 1 mpg.
I don't know if you realize the Veyron engine is already extremely modified engine probably maximized and optimized to get the most possible HP or you think they just stopped at 1001 hp just because they liked the number?
