Ford taking Focus ST around America with free Performance Academy

Ford is giving the public at large a chance to jump behind the wheel of its upcoming 2013 Focus ST. The company is hosting a slew of consumer driving events around the country where consumers will be able to take the wheel for a little driving training and timed laps on an autocross course. The tour starts on June 30 in New York before moving on to Washington, D.C., Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Each event starts at 9am. and features a full day of getting cozy with the new sport hatch. Festivities close out at 6pm sharp.

If you want to get in on the fun yourself, you'll need to preregister for the event by heading over to shindig's site. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and considering it's free, we'd be willing to wager that spaces will fill up quickly. We can think of worse ways to spend a Summer Sunday
