99% of the time past generation car owners are not gonna like the new gen...its human nature.

I say progress is good....but give the side vent back to Corvette where it belongs and come with something original.

I am a former Gen II Viper owner and I love the car. I never warmed up to the Gen III/IV looks. I have always loved the looks of the Gen II GTS and I think the new car has similar looks with way better technology and horsepower. I just sold my GTS so I can get the Gen V. I do agree with some of I8ABMR's patients that it doesn't have the rawness of the original but to stay competitive you have to evolve and I think the Viper did. It is also why they offer two packages, the SRT Viper is what I am looking at getting. I don't need/want a fully wrapped leather interior, four way traction control and adjustable suspension and power seats that the GTS Viper has and I would expect many former Viper owners to also get the SRT Viper vs. the GTS Viper since it doesn't have all of the luxuries, is lighter and has the same horsepower.

As for the side vent, the Gen I/II Viper had those first so didn't Corvette copy off of the Viper?

Seriously, you are comparing those side vents to the Viper's? Technically you are correct but c'mon. I'll give you the '59 but I thought you meant the C5 and C6 because prior to that they really didn't have the large gaping wide vent the Viper has. Anyway the Viper, old and new, copied a lot of things from many different cars but the side vent from the Vette is a stretch.

comparing them, no -- just giving you the origins.

the newer the Corvette, the bigger the side vent.

I felt the same way. Did a little research and this specific car is not in production specs, the wheel gap and panel gaps are not within spec. This car is destined for the wall, it will be crash tested

Good to know. I knew this couldn't of been a production model with all those visible flaws.
