you must have missed this part of the article about the Escape....

Tick every box on a fully kitted-out Titanium AWD model and you'll hit $37,000 with no problem.

Exactly what I was going to point out. My problem with it is that it gets so pricey for a compact SUV.

seems like a lot of bang for the buck
just not my cup of tea in terms of design though
this is something i expect more so from kia or hyundai
