Some of the worst rims to appear in a long time. Sometimes Ford has some hits, but those are truly misses.

while i hate those wheels, and yeah it's no 5 series or GS, the car is otherwise very impressive. they say it's small inside yet they say it's bigger inside than 5 series or e-class. also, they didn't mention the trunk on it, which is cavernous. oh and this is how you do AWD without giant front rim wheel gap.

not sure how that interior pic looks so bad. yes the interior is not wood and could be more upscale, but a lot of the center console is closable storage covers:

just wondering, what things were falling off and loose?
Expected you to talk about wheelgap, left disappointed.

you must be out of touch with new car prices then. that price is for a loaded awd turbo v6 large sporty car. what do you consider a competitor for 39k then?

This car is certainly NOT average

Average price of new car sales transaction hits $30,748, an all-time record

If you've looked into purchasing a new car recently, we likely don't need to tell you prices are plenty lofty. According to TrueCar.com's data, the average selling price of a new car sold here in the U.S. last month was $30,748, marking an all-time record (last year's figure was just $28,771). While buyers are currently looking toward smaller, less expensive and more fuel-efficient models, overall vehicle sales have jumped ahead of the rest of the slowly recovering economy. In addition, manufacturers are keeping production more in line with demand, resulting in significantly scaled-back incentives.

As a result, the average transaction price has inched skyward even in the face of an uncertain economy and escalating fuel prices. In addition, small cars now carry significantly more content than before and prices to match, and crossovers just keep getting more and more popular. Buyers have proven none too wary of optioning B and C-segment vehicles well above MSRPs typically seen on mid-sized fare, and used car fleets are thin, raising prices and pushing buyers toward new cars instead. According to CNW Marketing, consumers now routinely option a vehicle to within 86 percent of the fully loaded cost.

Just to get some opinions here, what would y'all rather buy? The 2013 Taurus or the 2014 Impala?

IMO, the Taurus is in a class BELOW the ES350 and the ES350 starts at $36K.

its NOT in the same class as a 5-series.....make it a Lincoln MKF if that's what they're shooting for.

And the ES is what, 270hp and FWD vs 360HP AWD?

Different ballparks here

I agree the SHO vs. ES350 are different ballparks. One is a sport sedan, the other isn't.

OTOH, the Taurus AWD both regular and SHO are no longer Recommended by Consumer Reports due to poor reliability.

The ES350 is the highest rated car in their "Upscale Cars" category for Predicted Reliability".

but, but, they're not even remotely similar types of car, so the comparison is meaningless. and good luck actually buying an es350 at 36k.

i agree.
