I could have sworn the 5.7 olds diesel was the gasser makeover. It was replaced by the 6.2, a ground-up redesign, from what I understand. It was however as weak as a gasser.
Ram's ZF Partnership will be brand new in 2013. It will be 8 speeds.

I assume it's going to be an auto? The manual in the dodge has to be near its demise, with Ford and Chevy having ditched manual trannies.

off subject: and the engineers and PM's at the PIF and partnering Orgs were TOLD this very issue by you guys in the sandbox well before the deadline for deployment. Stinking thing is just like the tank in The Petagon wars movie.

Yes it will be an auto. The Getrag 6 speed is still available with the 4.7L V8, in the base model ST pickups. I believe an Allison transmission is standard with the Cummins 6.7L in the 2500/3500...but don't quote me on that.

okay, now I'm HOT.

I use to head up property years ago for PIF when they were placing MODS for the MAT-V. I heard of the breach in the hull design later but I didn't realize Soldiers were killed and I am so sorry to hear that Josh. that was such a stupid and unnecessary oversight. Im sure there is a paper trail of communication between the Soldiers and the Project Leads during field tests, which I'm sure was washed after the fact. and it probably was investigated and then swept under the rug. this has always been an issue when testing new equipment, unnecessary deaths happen. especially in the Army, the politics side of it (like you said about the type of dogs banned) can be a nasty deal.

I just feel that they put the importance of making thier new equipment look good ahead of the Soldiers Safety. they may not mean to do this but that's what happens when they push to make the deadlines, Soldiers get hurt. these events are rare, but still can be avoided nontheless. if there hasn't been already there needs to be some changes in certain branches of the Army, especially where transporting Soldiers in battle is concerned.

sorry for getting off the O.P.

Punching bag is now in order.
