My dad said if she leaves any man for a guy in an Optima she is an idiot .
This is a lot nicer sedan than many people think. The days of Kia making junk are long gone......and few of their products, today, demonstrate it better then the new Optima, though some of its steering-manners and road-noise could be improved a little. As far as FWD sedans go, it would be high on my own shopping list (probably in the Top 5).

No one denies that Mike, the Optima is an awesome car. Its also a Camry competitor one way or the other and as aspirational as a bowl of Cheerios.
The whole point of a Super Bowl commercial is to create buzz, and get people talking about the brand. Judging by the above comments, it looks like Kia succeeded.
regarding the auto show. Did you talk with the University guys at the ecco car downstairs. Very interesting future engineers. They built a fine product with some help from GM.
I saw one of these on the street the other day, Hyundai is making some great looking cars. Dude was trying to run me though :/
How was the throttle sensitivity? Has Hyundai/KIA fixed that problem yet?
The KIA optima is the best looking sedan in its class my 1000 miles. It turns my head when it goes by. It looks so nice and with wheels on it you'd think you were looking at the newest Benz or BMW. The lines are so european. They made a good move stealing the designers from Audi and BMW. Good job KIA and Hyundai
I like the new Optima turbo. I think it's got some real pep and feels good to drive. My only slight reservation would be wind and road noise... but for the price group I think it's still great!

I did spend some time downstairs in that alternative-fuel section, but, much of the time, the staffers from those small companies weren't there manning their exibits. And, one day, President Obama came by and toured that section, and the Secret Service agents swept that whole section clean and tossed out most of the people who were in there. It was a mess there for hours.
I did, however, talk with some of the staffers in that section. Was the "Ecco Car" you are referring to that big 1971 Chevy full-size job with the redone interior? I did see that....it was quite interesting.
