This is the 2013 Ford Fusion

We've still got a few days between us and the reveal of the 2013 Ford Fusion, but a minor bug in its iPad teaser app has given us an early glimpse of the all-new sedan.

As we showed you before, Ford enlisted the help of an interactive iPad app to count down the days until the Fusion's reveal. But today, an error with the app gave us a nice front-three-quarter view of Ford's new Camry-fighter, which has since been removed.

We're digging the low-slung stance, blacked-out Day Light Opening (greenhouse) and pixel-perfect wheel size, but it's the fascia that's easily the most handsome, combining elements of recent Ford concepts and polishing them up for production duty (along with a fair bit of Aston Martin in that grille). We'll be seeing much more in another three days, so stay tuned...

Here's a rear-shot of the new Mondeo, which the new Fusion will (supposedly) be based on:

Ford's design language has changed so much in the last few years...it's hard to keep track of what they've already done and where they're headed.

From what I can see - that design is a home run.

BTW, I'm referring to the smaller shot in white, not the blue car.

White car looks great. I've said this a million times... give any sedan narrow, slit-eyed headlights and nine times out of ten it will make the car successful.
Blue car would fail. Hatchback styling does not work in America.

That car looks fantastic (the white car in first photo). The styling is so gorgeous you would want to look in your garage once in a while to enjoy the site, like I do with my 550i M-Sport.

This is what the Camry is missing - superb car - with a face only a mother could love.

Looks fantastic.

The Camry sold 33k cars last month, I think 10k more than the next highest car. It is 100% Crystal Clear that people like the Camry period and it doesn't need more styling. Every year we hear how some new styled car is going to whip the Camry (Fusion, Malibu, Sonata, Optima) and it never happens.

This will sell well as the previous Fusion but the Camry will continue to kick its *** here.

Design-wise the Camry is light years behind. Fortunately for Toyota, reliability and FE save it.

I know this might be hard for people that just have a hard-on for crapping on the Camry but the Camry is light years ahead in most every other category but styling which is why they continue to chase and lose to the Camry.

Its absolutey amazing to me we should be talking about the Fusion and people want to bash yet again Camry styling. For the 10000000000000000th time, the Camry will never be some amazing looking Aston Martin. All the other cars that look more stylish sell far worse. Then who gives a crap if you have a more stylish car than a Camry, its the same class of car. You are doing it wrong.

Give it up.

The competition is good. The consumer wins. If Camry keeps Fusion on their toes and vice versa we end up with better cars. Throw Accord, Sonata, Malibu etc., etc. into the mix and the whole segment gets better.

Great comment. This is why I never look at one brand alone. At any given point in time, every company throws in their best engineering effort to come out with with their best product for a given segment. It's our job to look past the marketing speak and truly pick the best product in that segment.
