I'm considering a 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo S
I've got a little spare $$$$ coming my way next year, and am considering purchasing a new high quality sports car. Driven a 911 Turbo S, GTR, Z06 so far. Ferrari's and Lamborghini's are out of my price range brand new, and not really enthusiastic about buying one used.
So far I liked the 911 Turbo S the best. Quality just exudes from the car. Everything about it looks and feels well made.
The GTR's interior and exterior styling doesn't really do it for me. The Z06 Corvette is fun, and I love the styling, but build quality is a concern for me.
I haven't yet looked at the Audi R8 yet, but have heard a few too many reliability horror stories to consider it as a front runner.
So, what are your thoughts, suggestions, and ideas? What other 530+ HP sports cars would you guys consider in the under $180k range?

Just don't tell us you were down at the dealer working something out then never show up with it
I thought the GTS 4 was a nice setup but hard to argue with the Turbo S
Other ideas that may not be 530hp..
Maserati Granturismo S \ GranTurismo MC Stradale
AM DB9 or V12 Vantage

First of all, congratulate to be in this position. Secondly, if I were to consider, I would definitely put a 2 seater somewhere in the phrase "high quality sports" car. Nevertheless, with the 991 platform you'll be getting technology and more usability out of a high quality sports car. Not a bad choice, in fact a perfect compromise (if you can call a Porsche Turbo S a compromise at all ). The other two contenders for me would be Morgan and R8.

What a fantastic situation to be in, congrats! The only other car that matches your preferences: 530 hp, sport coupe, under $180k, and non-used would be the c63 black series.
However I would pick the 911 turbo s over the black series.
IMO r8 v10 > 911 turbo s > c63 black series

Get a certified low mileage turbo S, save about 30k on depreciation alone
But........pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease do yourself a favor and test drive a 997.2 GT3RS before you buy the Turbo S.
