GS69, thank you for the information!

So Lexus is gonna finish 3rd, but at least it's sales are starting to pick up!

Next year is going to be interesting. It'll be amazing if Lexus takes the crown and begins it's next streak.

Why should they? Is it not a Mercedes?

They should because it is a commercial vehicle (like the buses, carriers, etc. that MB also sells) and not a consumer vehicle.

In that case all manufacturers should remove pickup trucks and cargo vans from there list. The Sprinter is cargo van not a commercial vehicle.

At this rate Buick should no longer be included in the luxury class. Maybe a sub-luxury class. With the Verano starting at $22,585 dollars this just skews sales. That is not a luxury car and it doesn't really offer luxury car options either.

With Acura dropping the TSX and bringing an ILX Civic based Indiana made car as well as the RDX losing its original Acura components (platform, engine) to be CR-V based, I don't know how much longer they can be included.

Both brands are really straddling the line of luxury.

This is beyond common knowledge. Agreed 100%.

Richmond Hill, Ontario – The Honda Civic and Ford F-Series led sales in November and are on track to take the top spots for 2011, according to industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers.

DesRosiers noted that luxury vehicles, as a group, were up more than 10 per cent in November and are well above their year-to-date numbers. “Most of these were in the smaller luxury segments, with compact luxury SUVs up 70.6 per cent in November, which brings them up by 28.3 per cent year-to-date,” DesRosiers said. “Intermediate luxury SUVs were up 10.9 per cent in November, down 1.7 per cent year-to-date.” He noted that luxury models continue to outperform the market as a whole and forecasts that they will for the entire decade, dominated by European brands.

Overall, small vehicles are up 1.2 per cent, midsize vehicles are up 2.7 per cent, larger vehicles are down 0.3 per cent, and commercial-use vehicles, including pickup trucks, is up 3.5 per cent.

The top ten best-selling passenger cars in November, in order, were the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, Mazda3, Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Cruze, Volkswagen Jetta, Ford Focus, Toyota Camry, Toyota Matrix and Hyundai Accent.

BTW.. just saw that stupid "its a car!" Yaris commercial on youtube... and reminded me how we all thought:
a. commercial is really stupid
b. Yaris wont be a player in sales
c. Toyota gave us 2k/month target

And Yaris sold 5,640, in first month of limited availability... what do we know, eh?
It outsold Fiesta, Fit, Rio, Sonic, Accent to be #1 seller in its category (small hatch). Versa and Soul outsold it, but imho not same class either of them. And thats with being JDM built and hence priced too high with old engine to bring the price down.

That's awesome news. Most likely sales came from the CTh and HSh.
