(Welcome back, Andrew, BTW......you don't seem to have been posting much in CAR CHAT).
when you get real luxury, popularity isn't a word. either you can afford it, or you can't

pretty much the same why i don't think SL and 6 should have 6

This. A V6 SC now, would step all over the toes of the IS C, especially considering an IS350 C is $46k

If this GS coupe is produced how would it stack up with the 6-series? The 6-series is technically closer price wise to the 7-series than the E-class coupe. Where would this GS coupe be positioned?

Good to see Lexus stepping it up in the coupe arena. I hope they get it right

Lexus IS-C is competing with the 3-series and C-Coupe. The GS-C will complete mostly w/ the E-Coupe & A5. 6-Series is too expensive and large. I don’t think V6 & V8 is bad idea for GS-C, but they have to make a pure V8 coupe with the SC & V10 SC-F. Make the SC complete with the 6 and the SL.

They need to build this end of story. Should have built it since the 2nd gen.

i still say it depends. if the sc stays and base on gs platform, then i say no. i am still not a big fan of just making the sedan into coupe. the s class coupe didn't go too well, the cl is much better. sometimes it's hard to make a sedan (of this size) into a coupe

The 6-series is 5-series based, the E-class coupe is actually C-class based

Agreed 100%. Proper SC > GS coupe.

Proper SC as in more sporty with a folding hard top than a luxury cruiser?

Otherwise, GS coupe would be the sports coupe (fixed hard top, vert. optional?)

not anything like the 2sc. sc430 is a cruiser, it has nothing sporty about it imho. lexus can use a real coupe (2 door) in the size of the gs. but i really don't see why it has to be a gs coupe. if i want a coupe and have that kind of money, i probably want something that looks more different from the sedan. kind of like how 5 and 6 series

Or at the very least the CL/ S-Class Coupe. The 1SC was a large luxury coupe. The 2SC was smaller and a bathtub on wheels.

I always thought Lexus dropped the ball on making an IS an true coupe in vain of the Infiniti G coupe. I'm with everyone else in Lexus would need to completely have different foundation for a GS coupe and not just a shrunken down 4 door GS. Wouldn't this car be competition for the A5 considering size and class?
