2012 Dodge Charger SRT8
Ehhhhh....you would probably lose.
IS-F: 416hp/375Tq, Curb Weight-3,780 lb (1,715 kg). On paper, the Charger spanks the F. However, at over 4,300lbs, and with a soggy shifting transmission, I believe the real world outcome will be the IS-F walking all over this Mopar and smacking it in the face with its own doors. The IS-F is EXTREMELY well-balanced and able to make better use of the power it does have through its 8 speed transmission.
I have not driven an SRT8 Charger, but I have driven an IS-F, and I cant imagine much in this class being more balanced or able to make better use of its power. The transmission the SRT-8 uses is outdated, and a dog. The base charger gets the same transmission. Even in the hands of the V6 model (I have driven a 2011 as a rental for 3 weeks), the transmission shoes itself as this car's achilles heel from a performance standpoint.

Exactly my point. It's a 'probably' situation and as a driver, thats all I can ask for. Cars are probably equal at the track and then it comes down to driver ability. 8 speeds are nice but how many are you going to use in a 1/4 mile?
So is it a competitor? Absolutely.
I just ran one....it had 4 ppl in the charger and just me in my F with K&N intake...I only inched up every time i shifted, it was next to me the whole time to 100 then i shut it down.
so i'd say it's pretty close with the F, might even take me if he didn't have all that passenger.
then again, i need to get rid of this K&N intake.......
don't get whats so funny, people acting like they can build a better trans in their garage, the SRT8 is still using the MBE55 trans, excellent trans, that can take a fair amount of abuse and return high mileage reliability, 2-3 mpg more is not that much of a concern with a car known as a fuel hog, if you want mpg get the V6/8speed model, it drives exceptionally well and return 19/31 I think
