2005 Mini Cooper S. Sixteen trips to the dealer in 21 months. Auto tranny would not engage sixth gear. Dash board lights would go on whenever driven over a pothole. Radio worked intermittently. Several loud (and embarrassing) rattles all throughout the interior.

1987 BMW 325e. I loved the body style but hated the repair bills! Traded it for a GS400 back in the day.

It wasn't mine, but my best friend had a Cadillac Catera in the late 90's.

The engine would die frequently while driving on the freeway. She got so good at turning on the ignition while the car was in neutral going at 70mph, I never realized that the car died while in motion several times before our destination.

And the passenger belt didn't buckle. We had to tie my belt to her's while driving.

The car was a death trap, but it got us to where we wanted to go to...

Goota name 2 cars because both were ridiculously UNreliable.

My first car, 1969 Plymouth Satellite. What a putz....but I loved the huge back seat. I kept that car super clean.

1995 Benz C280. It had several issues all along but after it hit 70K miles, that thing was in the shop more times than any car should. Every month it was something. With no extended warranty, I almost went broke fixing it.

My 2 Camaro's were almost as bad but that Benz was the worse piece of crap I ever had. Rode like a Benz should though. Even the C-Class felt better than any of the Lexus cars I've had. No joke. Smooth as butter. Felt like closing a bank vault door, no air sound while driving on the highway.

1997 Ford Explorer Sport (briefly known as the Explorer Expedition). It went in for service 12 times in less than one year for about 25 different problems ranging from window leaks to transmission problems. The dealers (several) were horrible including one than put a beautiful down to the metal scratch on the fender several inches long. And then there was the paint problem - was it paint contamination or vehicle damage during transport that was repaired? I had red bleeding through black especially on the front hood. I never found out though because Ford had to take it back in a lemon law settlement.

Mine was LS400 - a car that is often regarded as the "most reliable car" ever. Although my 745 is getting there as well.

its a toss up between Audi and Benz... both were crap, Audi spent more time in the shop than on the road, Benz would leave puddles of oil on my driveway...

My 1985 BMW 528e spent more time at the dealer than in my garage. By contract the two Benzes I've owned never spent the night at the dealer. Now with the Lexus I figure there wont be any more over night trips.. (knock wood).

Not me, but my mom had a 1982 Chevrolet Citation. That was the most miserable piece of crap ever created. I'd take the Hyundai Excel from the late 80's over that POS.

I had a 1975 VW Rabbit that would develop carburetor vapor lock when hot. It would stall and not restart. It was a common problem and the service manager taught me to carry a rubber mallet and where to hit it to resolve the problem.

So far, my GS400 has been the least reliable than all of my previous cars combined.

starter, alternator (twice), alignment problems, ball joints (just in case), batteries (because of the hiccuping alternator), ongoing stereo display issues, the futzy factory remote/alarm....

for reference I've had:
2000 Mazda Miata
1993 Toyota Land Crusher
1999 Saturn SC2
