So BMW managed to make the 1 Series EVEN UGLIER???
The Lexus CT is a work of art compared to this hideous thing. Even the current 1 Series, which I hate, looks easily better than this.
That is one of the UGLIEST front ends I have seen on a vehicle in years. Those have got to be THE UGLIEST headlights over the last decade on any production car.
This looks like a BMW Polo. VW executives must be laughing non-stop after seeing pictures of this.
It seems as if BMW is trying as hard as possible to make the 1 Series really bad, in order to make the 3 Series look better in comparison.
I also don't get all the hype and praise about the interior. The interior is only a slight improvement in my eyes. I don't see any big improvement at all with the interior.
If even BMW forums hate this with a passion, not good news for BMW.
i am sure 1 series sales will actually go up, afterall, it will get best reviews from all euro mags telling us how great it is, autocar already gave its positive spin on looks.
I can see some females liking this car for the "cute" front end. For how long though could BMW sustain high sales of this "thing"? Especially if they face increased competition from Benz, Audi, VW, and others?
I wouldn't be at all surprised if sales go up, but for the sake of good taste, I hope they do not.
BMW has gone ahead and put up this single picture of the M-Sport to tantalize us until the full wallpapers are released.
Probably the most striking feature of the M-Sport 1er will be the addition of Estoril Blue Metallic as a new color option. This will not be available on non M-Sport equiped vehicles.
The M-Sport package consists of all new bumpers and sills with new M light alloy wheels in either 17" or 18". The chrome trim is replaced by high-gloss Shadow Line trim.
On the interior, the M-Sport package includes some typical and some new elements. Equipment includes an M leather multifunction steering wheel, nappa leather clad e-brake handle and gear shifter. The trim is redone in an "Aluminum Hexagon" with blue accents. Sport seats carry over the hexagon theme with a combination of Hexagon fabric and Alcantara. You can always alternativly go with the standard leather coverings that come as part of the Sport Line package.
I'm confused...Does this car replace the current 1Series (coupe) we have in the US? The 128/135i. I noticed the engines that this new model offers are, although fuel efficient, very lacking. No more inline 6 TT? I sure hope this is just to complement the current generation we have, and not to replace them...

I read somewhere and think they mentioned the current 1 series will become a 2 series and this new 1 series we see here in these photos will slot below what we have today.
