There's no solid information yet for the US market. Not even sure if we'll get the Smart-Stop option available in Japan and other markets. That option costs $750. Apparently, it's only an option mated with the 1.3 liter available overseas. Since we are unlikely to get that engine (too weak for Americans), we may be out of luck for start stop tech.

Even with the current generation, Europe/Japan gets about 5 engine choices for the Yaris! We get a grand total of one. So chances are, we'll get only one option for 2012, and that will be the mid-range offering - likely a standard 1.5 liter. Toyota needs to throw a 6-speed in to compete but I have a feeling they won't.

They get a CVT option, 4WD option (yes, on a Yaris hatch!), diesel option, a quick 1.8 liter option, and more.

Then again, the Yaris is the #3 seller in Japan and a top seller in Europe so all these options make sense there.

Yeah, I posted it in the 2012 Civic thread. And it's not a "claim", it's the official EPA rating.

This makes the new Civic hybrid the 2nd most fuel efficient vehicle available.
