Not to be too esoteric, but Hispano-Suiza's "flying crane" always one of the finest-looking radiator-cap ornaments in the business . . .

. . . as did the 1933 La Salle.

How about the Daewoo logo? It looked like a jockstrap.

If they start making electric plug-in cars, a green version would be appropriate.
Green would be an awesome color to add to the logo.

I'd have to agree with 1SICKLEX on the emblem choices, especially the AMG Black Series, GTR Spec-V, and, of course, the F.

By far my favourite, just something about it that demands respect.

Other than the ones mentioned already (GT-R, Mercedes, Audi, Lamborghini, M, AMG, Jaguar leaping cat) I also like the Harrier badge:

Good thread Mmarshall, I'm sure you know vintage Jags hood ornaments doubled as hood releases but haven't for a long time. When I worked with Jaguar a wacky auto journalist managed to pull off the leaping cat ornament in an attempt to open the hood on a S-typeR.

My favorite logos:
Porsche
Ferrari
Jaguar
Aston Martin
Pontiac
RollsRoyce
Bentley
Mercedes

Least fav:
Mazda
Toyota
Audi
Maybach
Mercedes when the hood ornament is 6" from the grill logo

Thanks. Not much of a pattern to it yet, although several posters, like you, have chosen the Jaguar cat, and a few others, the Mercedes Tri-Star. (the Tri-Star was also on my list)

I like a clean, symmetrical designs - which is why I find the Toyota and Hyundai logos to be simply awful.

The Nissan logo is also pretty bad, esp. when it is plastered superized onto a grill.

The only logo that doesn't look bad supersized on a grill is the Mercedes tri-star design. The Lexus logo doesn't look as good on a grill since it isn't symmetical (it looks much better as a trunk badge than on the grill).

So 5 points is not as simple as three points, thus less classy and timeless ?

I love how Maserati stick their trident in the grille.
