Default Post up your car part furniture!

Well Ive started getting a little more into it but I figured since I was making more "grown up" stuff Id post it. My first endeavor was the turbo canvas. I salvaged a used school bus turbo compressor housing and then did some modern art stuff on the canvas. Here's the result of that

Then I snagged a civic hatch CF spoiler base. It pretty much looked like a baby surfboard made of CF so I some simple lines and logo-ish thing on there in gold paint and then made a wall sconce out of it. Here's the result of that

And now the third one I'm most excited about is a old BBS rim from some Porsche track car. The rim wasn't in great shape but a good bit of polishing, painting, and buffing and it was looking new again. This is going to be my new coffee table. I'm going to have a clear piece of glass made for the top and do simple designs around the corner of the glass and set the wheel underneath it. also followed by some LED back lighting inside the bottom of the wheel. Here's the wheel so far. I made a center cap from a Lexus logo I had sitting around (gotta keep it in the Lex family lol)

^^Nice!!! I had always wanted to make a coffee table using some of the "old school" XXR wheels with a diamond plate top, and adjustable control arms.

Nice work. I like that spoiler.

I made a 1UZ end table. And I've got a 2UZ block that will soon be another end table. Now all I need is to find a V12 for a coffee table

And if you're looking for a glass top, check your local thrift stores. Got mine for $5

I really don't want to thread-jack but I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one that does this. Here's my contribution:

It's a 2JZ cam pulley that I ripped out of an SC at a junkyard. I had it sandblasted, clearcoated it and installed a clock kit that was less than $15 online. I polished the face that came with the clock kit and epoxied it to the back. It doesn't have numbers but the timing mark is 12:00 so you can figure it out. It has a wall mount on the back. The whole thing cost me maybe $25 and everyone that has seen it loves it.

I have a set of rims in storage with three of them slightly bent. I'm hanging on to them until i get around to having them fixed but I have seriously considered having a piece of 24" X 48" X 3/8" piece of glass made and using it as a coffee table. My fiancee shot that one down pretty quick but I'll just wait for her to go out of town

2 pads on the top of the water pump housing at the front of the block (back side in picture) and I made 2 struts that screw into head bolt holes at the other end of the block (front of pic) and 2 more gel pads on top of those. Glass just sits on top.
