Report: Honda Accord Crosstour to get four-cylinder option
DOES ANYONE REALLY CARE!?!?! lol
When Honda originally launched the odd duck Accord Crosstour in late 2009, we were told that the only available powertrain would be a V6, but that plans for a four-cylinder hadn't been completely ruled out. Now, Honda fansite Temple of VTEC reports that a memo sent to dealerships states that a four-cylinder Crosstour is on the way, arriving at some point later this year.
Details about the four-cylinder Crosstour were not divulged, but we would assume that it's the same 2.4-liter engine currently found in the Accord sedan. Temple of VTEC reports that a larger four-cylinder unit for the CR-V crossover is currently in the works, so we won't rule out the possibility of that new mill finding its way under the Crosstour's hood, as well. Expect the four-cylinder engine to only be available on lower-trim Crosstours, likely without an all-wheel drive option.

Sales goal was 44k, it hit around 28k so it fell far short. I think adding a 4 cylinder is a no brainer and will help sales. This is simply a wanna-be X6.
Its still a slap in the face to Acura you can get AWD and V-6 in this USDM Accord Crosstour but the "Acura" TSX wagon gets FWD and an I-4 only.

It was introduced as a V6 only because it was supposed to be the "premium" accord model.
I wonder what the sales split is for the Venza between the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder.

The Venza as a less practical and much more stylish alternative easily outsells the 'turd.

This is nothing more than an act of desperateness. The thing is a flop and Honda is trying to salvage some sales by lowering it's base.

A 4 cylinder won't fix the ugly. Plus, this is going to be one SLOW vehicle. A torque-less Honda 4 cyl in a large wagon like this, bad idea.
Not according to Honda sales figures it isn't .
