Audi RS3 Finally Breaks Cover

Nice car and we all love it, but there are a lot of cars to chose from in the $68K category. A bit too much for a "perceived" entry level compact wagon from Audi, no matter how nice it is.
If it were an A6 Avant, that would be more of a suitable price tag.

2011 Audi RS3
Video
Salivation, drool, slobber, whatever you want to call it, we're nearly foaming at the mouth for the Audi RS3, and we know many of you are, too. The combination of Audi's interior build quality, a fairly compact hatchback, and the RS treatment make for one enviable package.
Sure, the Volkswagen Golf R might be the smart alternative, but it doesn't pack the visual or performance punch of the RS3. The video doesn't tell us much new, though it does confirm the Spring 2011 on-sale date. Of course, that's for Europe. We'll have to wait a bit longer, most likely.
Quattro all-wheel drive and 340 horsepower rocketing along with the smell of Nappa leather and the bikes in the back--what's not to love? Add in 0-60 mph in less than five seconds, 174 mph top speed (if not limited) and 332 torkles, and you'll be in hot hatch heaven--even if your wallet isn't.
Those of you with keen memories will notice that the footage used in this video is largely compiled from the b-roll footage we brought you back in November. The new video rolls it all into a sensible format, and adds some details to the car's features.

Guess we're going to have to wait for the second gen CT, to have similar specs.

Looks great but when I tested an Audi A3 TDI I was like this kinda feels like a cheap car from driving it. From engine/road noise to the suspension. It didn't feel like a typical Audi.

It's not going to cost $68K (if it makes it stateside)
Car prices are not the same on the other side of the Atlantic as here. Their prices do not just translate into our prices following a simple currency exchange rate exercise.
I.E., the Audi S4 w/S-Tronic in the UK and Germany has the US equivalent base price of $62K. Here in the US the base price of an Audi S4 is $47K for the Premium Plus model, and $53K for the Prestige Model.

Audi is going in a direction I would definitely NOT want Lexus to be going in. That is, a lineup of bland models that mostly look the same (complete with tacky christmas tree LED lights), and many of which that look very similar to VW models.
Is there a market for this car in Europe? Yes. Is there a market for this car in North America? That is debatable.
Will it sell? Most likely in Europe, yes. In North America, again it is debatable.
