Looking at October...
Also want to say that the sales dominance of the Rav4 is really nothing short of amazing. I haven't seen any advertising for this 'ute, it's at the end of it's life cycle, and yet it continues to sell like HOTCAKES.
Who said BOF SUVs were dead? 4Runner is selling like the 5 0'Clock Free Crack giveaway and Toyota is increasing capacity significantly next year.
Camry was significantly down, Venza is struggling lately, new Yaris is badly needed, "redesigned" Avalon is down, FJ Cruiser is up 50+ percent, Highlander sales surged, Sequoia and Land Cruiser are both up.
ES 350 had a great month - very nice!
I was expecting more of an uptick in IS sales.
HS rose a bit but still sells poorly.
GS managed to eek in a few more units.
GX remains very strong.
RX sells almost as much as Enclave and MDX combined.
What got into the A6? Nice numbers for the month.
5 Series and E Class sales are just incredible. 5,500+ units for the E!
S Class had another up month...very up, in fact.
7 seems to be slipping, even with the 740i.
I have no idea how the Cadillac SRX sells so well...that is one of the ugliest cars I have ever seen.
Looking at sales of midsize luxury CUVs/SAVs/SUVs, it's clear that luxury and comfort are what shoppers want. RX, Enclave and SRX hold a very significant lead (more than the rest of the class combined) over everything else.
Looking at 2010 and YTD sales...
Things look bad for Toyota and good for Lexus...lending credence to the notion that Lexus escaped the recall saga largely unscathed.
Avalon is the only car has had positive sales over 2009 - everything else is down for the entire year. SUVs look much better though Sequoia and Land Cruiser are down overall. Tacoma is slipping a bit as well.
Every single Lexus model is posting positive sales momentum except for the IS and discontinued SC. Yes, haters (myself included, raises hand) even the GS has managed growth in 2010
. LS is up significantly and everything else is consistent.

Yea, those 25 extra sales over last years totals have the competition going back to the drawing board!

. LS is up significantly and everything else is consistent. So many people were yelling at the beginning of the year Toyota/Lexus were done for. It proves again that what so many anti Lexus/Toyota people say on the internet has absolutely no relevance in the real world.
What is troublesome is no one ATE Lexus/Toyota for dinner. This was the opportune time to really capitalize and get people to seriously think of leaving the brand(s). The competition should have swallowed the costs in the marketing budget and had TONS AND TONS of in person demo's and driver's test events so people can see their products.
Whats scary is the GS, IS, ES, LS are All 5 to 6 years old and Lexus is still doing well. The CT will help negate any loss of sales until the new sedans arrive.
Its scary to think that there is a new focus on quality and adding some sport to the brands.

I believe spring 2011. Next year will be tough b/c outside of that and the LFA there is nothing new for Lexus.
BMW is a threat b/c the next X3 will be here and that will be around 2-3k units a month for them they don't have this year. (wonder when the new 3 comes?)
Benz has the C-class coupe running around, not sure when it will debut. Don't think they have anything major next year.

Holy crap the Yaris is doing poorly (relatively). It use to kick the Honda Fit's butt all the time and now it's selling half of the Fit's number.
I really wish they would separate retail and fleet sales. We could get a better insight of what the consumers really want, but that's not going to happen. Everyone wants a big fat number in the end regardless of who the cars were sold to.

My notes:
Lexus extends lead in month which surprised me, I thought they would finish 3rd again.
Caddy/Buick has blown past Acura
Audi again passes Infiniti
Lincoln continues to tank
Chrysler 300 sales huge bump
"new" Avalon with a poor month
Regal having supply issues
3 series continues domination
ES huge month in Oct
CTS coupe bumped up overall CTS sales
G 25/37 sedan only up 10% with a new cheaper model.
HS continuing flop
5 series huge month
XF doing well considering Jaguar is not on peoples radar
S class HUGE month
Panamara sold more than 7 series
Q5 now dominant cute ute
FWD RDX really helped sales
RX is out of control
SRX/Enclave are beasting
MDX is now Acura volume vehicle
RR sport/Cayenne outsell FX
ZDX is beyond fail
Escalade dominant
GL big month
QX doing well
G37/A5 coupes continue to battle
Notice how the rest of sales are small and how some pricier coupes outsell cheaper ones
Mustang/Camaro continue to duke it out

"Sales of the Infiniti G sedan were up 10.7 percent, thanks in part to initial sales of the new G25 sports sedan." as noted above, not a big increase.
Especially when compared to the huge popularity of smaller-engined versions of the 3 series (328), IS (250) and C-class (C300) in the US.
