Top Gear filming in Israel
The crew of the BBC's "Top Gear" television program is currently in Israel to film an episode to be aired during the coming season.
The program's presenters - Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May - were seen crossing into Israel from Jordan on used roadsters earlier this week.
According to various reports, the trio are making their way to Jerusalem. During the journey, they'll complete different tasks and improve their cars in the amusing and entertaining style for which the program is famous.
Images snapped of the cars being brought into Israel show that there have already been some modifications for the Middle East environment. One is painted in camouflage colors and another has a nargileh pipe attached to the door.
It is unknown how much time the crew will spend in Israel, but viewers will be able to hear exactly what Clarkson, Hammond and May thought about Israel's roads in the coming season, which will begin airing in Britain in a few months.

I can't wait for this episode.

The fellas over at Top Gear have been to just about every nook and cranny in Great Britain and criss-crossed continental Europe in all manner of train, plane and automobile. They've driven to the North Pole, scaled an active volcano, crossed the Sahara and traversed South America. They've driven through Vietnam, Dubai, Japan, the southern United States... nearly everywhere we can think of, really. Except Israel. But now they can cross the Holy Land off their collective bucket list as reports and photos come in from the tiny Eastern Mediterranean country showing Clarkson, Hammond and May taking in the desert sun.
Apparently filming a new episode in their epic series of cross-country adventures, the Top Gear crew was spotted crossing westward over the border between Jordan and Israel in a dingy trio of roadsters: Richard in a Fiat Barchetta, James in a BMW Z3 and Jeremy in a Mazda MX-5, complete with retrofitted hookah. (Just for tobacco, of course.) The cars appear to be accompanied by a convoy of support vehicles for the production and camera crews, and undoubtedly had to jump through a lot of hoops to get there as the border is typically open only for foot traffic.
We'll be ordering up some fallafels and tuning in to Arutz Shtayim just as soon as we know when the episode will air to see how James, Richard and Yirmiyahu manage to get themselves out from in between the Dome of the Rock and a hard place. In the meantime, check out the spy shots (courtesy of forum member Dark-Shadow) in the gallery below and the (translated) report from our friends over at Walla! Cars for a closer look at how the blokes are single-handedly re-instituting the British Mandate. Ashrecha for the tip, Nat!

So while at the filming of Top Gear USA, they informed us that unfortunately, Richard, Jeremy, and James would not be able to come to say hi to us all due to them being in a place that was very dangerous. IIRC, Richard, the one who was helping direct the filming of TGUSA, said that it involved a lot of bombs, shootings, and danger at every shoot.
The most amusing thing was, I wasn't the only one to think "North Korea?"

www.Finalgear.com for the torrent of episodes. The screenwriter of the UK version was at the USA taping and told us to keep up our enthusiasm of the site/show since they love the feedback we give them off there

This is interesting. Israel is not know for motorsports. I have friends over there who have to race on streets clandestinely. However, Israel is planning to make some inroads into the area. Glad to see Top Gear is going there.
