This list obviously reflects the fact that a number of these vehicles are among the best-selling new models. Those millions of new models, as they age past the time when most auto manufacturers keep and stock parts for them, require replacement parts at unscrupulous body/service shops. So, rather than buy parts from junkyards or other legitimate sources, these unscrupulous shops simply send out their best auto-theft artists to steal the cars they want, bring them back, and disassemble them for parts. It's illegal and, IMO, disgusting, but a very profitable buisness.
