The eco-credit is an immediate discount. The Tax Credit is $900 for the 335d during the tax return.

The X5d is pretty tempting though. An e90post member got these:
$2500 Holiday Cash
$1500 Voucher for participating in BMW Accident Research Program
$3500 off for the Diesel
$1800 Tax Credit
$1000 BMW CCA Membership Rewards program

Note: X5 receives higher discounts (BMWCCA, Tax credit).
