Default Jensen Interceptor S: Better than the Original?

They say they don't make 'em like they used to. But they can make them better. Case in point, the Jensen Interceptor. During the late 60s and early 70s, it was one of the finest British motor cars around. But decades later, the car's getting a little long in the tooth. Enter Jensen International Automotive, a firm dedicated to keeping the old cars in tip-top shape.

The fruit of their labor is called the Interceptor S. It replaces the old Chrysler engine with a new 429-horsepower Corvette V8, the old brakes with new discs from AP Racing, and the suspension with an independent set-up for a smoother ride. As a result, the Interceptor S can now hit 60 in 4.5 seconds and top out over 160 miles per hour. Each year, JIA will only equip 18 out of the 6400 examples originally produced, at an all-in starting price of £105,000 ($164,000).

I saw a Jensen a few months back near my old place. I was actually shocked. I am seeing more and more older British and American made cars in Montreal now.

Just last weekend I saw a Porsche 356. Not sure if it was a replica or authentic. Two minutes later I saw a Ford Mustang (First generation) looked similar to the one in "Gone in 60 Seconds"
