Officially Official: Aston Martin refreshes the DB9

Despite the fact that few people would actually argue that the Aston Martin DB9 really needed a nip and tuck, that's exactly what it's getting for 2011. Given how well the DB9 has held up over the last seven years, the changes have been kept pretty discreet. The lower front grille has been reshaped and new mesh inserts have been added, while the rocker panel crease now sweeps up into the rear wheel arches.

Mechanically, the DB9's 6.0-liter V12 powertrain has been carried over, as has its 470 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. The most significant upgrade for 2011 is the adoption of an adaptive damping system similar to the one already available on the DBS and Rapide. Thanks to the improved handling offered by the damping system, Aston has decided to drop the Sport Pack previously available on the DB9. Production of the upgraded models has already started and customers should be getting the new cars in the coming weeks.

Smart move for Aston Martin, they know what they are doing, you don't try to change perfection, you just tweak it!!!

Looks good.

I was drooling over one of these at the local dealer a couple of weeks ago and can't understand why they put those pseudo back seats in this vehicle.

The front seats appeared to be set up in a normal driving position and there was literally less than two inches between the back of the front seats and the leg rests of the back....lol.

maybe aston martin was counting on the rear passenger to be anorexic?

Lol!

Or maybe they're actually targeting families....because anything more than a baby seat will not fit in the back.

aside from the very miniscule rear seating (if it can really be called that), it looks very nice. not much to improve upon from such a great car already

I have been drooling over the Astons near my house. They are very very nice looking cars. I have to say That I think this Aston looks better than the Ferrari 430 they had in the show room

Give me an open checkbook and you'd find a Vantage V12 or DBS in my garage as my daily driver!!! Would take one of those over ANY other car... perfection!!!!

I'll be really sad when they have to do a complete redesign of it someday, this generation of Astons (DB9, DBS, V8 Vantage) are the most beautifully designed vehicles.
