Why were you running 5% tint in CA if you knew it to be illegal there.......or were you just unaware of the law? You didn't state the reason in your post. I assume your car is registered in CA, and not another state.

 

because any tint on the front is illegal. and if i get a ticket for 35% tint, the fine is not gunna be any different. i chose to knowing that i can get cited for it.

 

^^not even close to being too low by California law.

 

yeah, for cali you will get a "too low" ticket only if some part of your car is hanging below the lower lip of the wheel (such that it would drag on the road if you had a flat tire) or if your headlight (center mark) is <22" from the ground.

thats better than getting pulled over for driving TOO slow...love when cops exaggerate the speeds.

 

thats what i was thinking, and many of them have the darkest tint possible and/or super bright headlights (which is definitely more of a nuisance than a lowered car with brighter headlights IMO), yet i havent seen too many of them get pulled over. as for the vehicle lowerance, as long as the lowest part of the car, typically the side of the front bumper, is even or higher than the lowest point of the rim, you shouldnt get pulled over. always felt this was safest because the distance between the sidewall and rim should be the exact difference between front bumper/aftermarket lip and the ground.

 

big lifted trucks scare me now, they never used to because i had one

 

its funny, everytime i get pulled over, and the cop mentions something about me being to low, they let me off with a warning.... lol
but ive had at least 3 cops tell me that :P

 

I would think getting pulled over frequently is inconvenient.

 

My car is dropped on coils and have never had any issues. I think the 19's with the tuck makes the car look lower. After looking at the pics I dont think the car is over the edge. I think the cops had nothing better to do and just wanted to check out the Lex

 

I never get how lowering the car is more illegal than raising the truck. Both are equally dangerous. Can anyone argue?

 

I would argue would be that lowering the car endangers the occupants of the lowered car more than the surrounding vehicles, whereas lifting a trunk puts more danger on others.
