Why on earth would you willingly want a FWD car? My mind is boggled. Why why why?

To be honest, without a photo, we can't tell if it's a fair trade.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

also, as far as 'value' goes -

you can't beat last gen Sonata v6 LX especially if she wants to have a roomy highway cruiser like RL. you can easily get 07 v6 for under 10k and it will still have a plenty of warranty left. I do love last gen accord, but most likely 10k accord will have at least 70-80k miles on it.

Used 2007 Hyundai Sonata V6 $9,795

it's not common in the U.S, but when worked, i think it looks great. Studie kit is very nice IMO.

Too bad as coupes are it

Well, if she is limited to 4 doors & fwd then the Toyota Matrix would be a good choice. There are some examples out there with available AWD.

Maybe she likes Buicks, Mike. The 1Gen RL was a Japanese Buick, with better reliability. Rode like a Buick; more or less handled like one.

With a 10k budget I recommend something cheap that is cheap to maintain
With most cars, basically I agree, but one reason why I recommended the larger Hyundai XG/Azera and Kia Amanti (among others) is that some of them might (?) still have the balance of the 5/60 general warranty and the 10/100 drivetrain. Back then, if my memory is correct, the 10/100 drivetrain warranty was still transferable to a new owner outside the immediate family, unlike now.

In general, though, I agree with you..........with a used car, in general, the newer and simpler, the better, although most Subaru, Honda, and Toyota AWD vehicles have been reliable despite their complexity.
