Infiniti will debut the brand's first ever diesel engine in the Infiniti EX, Infiniti FX, and Infiniti M-Line. The diesel-powered models will be made available for markets in Europe.
Dubbed the V9X, the 3.0-liter turbocharged common rail engine produces 235 hp (175 kW / 238 PS) and up to 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. The aluminum four-cylinder unit powers the Infiniti EX30d to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. The FX30d sprints to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.
Infiniti says the torque-heavy engine helps the SUV greatly in overtaking situations.
With the diesel, the EX uses 8.4 liters of fuel per 100km, getting roughly 34.6 mpg imp. The FX uses 9.0 liters of fuel, for 31.4 mpg imp. EX30d and FX30d CO2 emissions are rated at 224 grams and 240 grams per kilometer, respectively. NOx emissions were not revealed.
The Infiniti M30d will be available when the M-Line is released later this year. The diesel versions of the EX and FX should be available shortly.

It's ridulous. I guess an ex Honda employee also insists the use of red badges.
From my understanding this is an engine Renault has used for a couple years. Also comparing it to other diesels it's not class leading in anything.
I was also unaware 85% of Infiniti sold are the fx.

Back on topic, FX should benefit from diesel option, like the ML/GL did.

Actually, I don't mind the Murano's front so much as I do the rear (Ok so string me up). I find the Venza's ridgy face no prettier, btw (and I LOVE that car despite the fact). The older Murano had some pretty distinctive and sharp looking vertical tail lights and the new one has very generic horizontal ones.

The front may be a bit disturbing in a few cases for me...........but other parts of the car are nice so I guess that kinda offsets it (somewhat)
Anyways
Not much is known yet about the V9X diesel engine from Renault-Nissan alliance. However, the engine is still fairly new I believe as it launched around October 2008. So yeah, it's just more than a year
And first used in the Renault Laguna Coupe. So yeah, it's still fresh I believe.
Anyways, this engine is already available in the EX and FX over there and will also be used for the Infiniti M which will arrive there in September. This engine is helpful in their market where there is vehicle emission taxes and fuel surcharges and whatnot......
With that said, I believe this engine might make it to Stateside.......if the need really arises (i.e. need to comply with CAFE and stricter fuel economy and vehicle emission regulations in the future, etc.)

Yup.......especially with the fuel surcharges and vehicle emission based taxation over there in the EU
@spwolf
You are from Europe right? Which country/territory then? How's the fuel and vehicle tax structure and system there?
