M3 is not turbo, just in case you didn't know. Its a high revving 4 liter V8.

And turbo does not always mean lag. The twin turbo 3.0 I6 in BMW's has insane amount of low end torque. Even in 6th gear at 1000 RPM's it pulls very very hard.

That being said, I too would take IS-F over M3.

"Rumormill" has it that a 3.0L V6 with forced induction will bow midcycle for the 3IS. So say 2016. That would put it on track for replacing the 3.5L DI V6 debuted in late 2005 for 2006 models. We'll see what happens

From a power standpoint, I can see your argument. However, DI is also much more fuel efficient, something Toyota will need in the future. Imagine a detuned DI 3.5L Camry that gets 36 mpg!
