Maybe it's 'rare' because people mistaken it for a Toyota Camry. Without a doubt it looked VERY much like its cousin.
Is that U.S production or world wide production? It seems to be U.S. production but please correct me if I'm wrong...

- 01 LS430 with the dark red interior... in custom luxury or ultra luxury trim levels.
- 97 SC300 5spd
- 95-96 GS300 Touring edition
I just saw a IS300 Sportcross yesterday.

There were only like 21,000? made in 1990. I had one. I loved that car. Once I got it fixed from years of previous owner neglect, it was stone solid reliable...Till some ******* in a silverado ran a red light and I t-boned him at 50mph in early 2005.

I have only ever seen one of those, it was non running and for sale for $500. Maybe I should have bought it? It was a 1992.

Hardly crap. When those cars came out they were the pinnacle of entry-level luxury. FAR more reliable than the Acura's and Infinity's of the time (and tis class), and IMO much more attractive.

Mine did too, it was actually not all that uncommon on ES250's. Of the total production, roughly a third were cloth interiors.

the rarest ones i know of are the 2010-11 GS460, something like only 30 were made, and the 1993 ES300 with a standard transmission (yes,an ES with a clutch is an actual thing that exists). also, the 2007 GS430 is really hard to find too. ive seen plenty of 06 but never an 07.

something else to consider as well. even a car with high production numbers can be very rare today simply due to age. they made a ton of LS400s in 1990, but i rarley see them on the road today. and the few that are still hanging on that i have seen are in absolutley terrible condition. ES250s are also very very rare sights these days. they had rust problems which im sure took alot of them. i remember ten years ago i didnt really see many and the few i did always had rot.

Rarest Lexus is the LFA, does anybody know how many they sold in the US??? I know the 500 total production number is for all cars sold all over the world.

As for rare Lexus models, SC 300 with stock manual transmission. Rare, but not unicorn rare yet, still a few of these on the road, as about the only thing that will kill them is severe owner neglect or salt.

ES250, can't remember the last time I saw one of those, even back in the 90's they weren't common, not nearly as common as the much better selling ES300.

IS300 with a manual, seems like I never see a clean IS300 anymore, I see more of the older SC models in nicer shape than the 1st gen IS300. For some reason all the ricer idiots got ahold of these things and either wrecked them or neglected them into being a total POS.
