I have 3D map on my wife's nav, its very to get use to it. We both prefer the good old 2D map. The 2D map is just easier to read and the 3D map looks cool but its not as funtional.
it is just tying google earth image data with your navigation system - it looks great, but you still pay for the updates. you do not navigate with google earth, you do that with google maps, which is different app.

i have to agree. i don't know how much getting used to is needed, but personally i think that's more like a gadget than true practicality. 2d works just fine for me
i prefer the 3d (and speed!) on my tiny tomtom 140S over any other nav i've used. even has the cool 3d 'lane identification' for highway exits which is great.

The 3D mode on the BMW and Audi is not quite like the 3D mode on the Tom Tom or Garmin. The factory one is much more confusing to look at and the bird's eye view is totally useless. Both oem system now have lane ID split screens.
