Coincidentally, the Avalon is one of the rare Toyota navi systems that lack touchscreen, I'm guessing this is a factor in the dissatisfaction rate.

I don't know how credible the chart but Acura does have one of the best nav in the industry.

Also, a number of the cars on this list have identical navigation systems, but different ratings, in that respect it comes down to owner attitudes varying by different cars with the same system from the same brand.

My parents have an '08 Avalon with Nav.

It sucks dirty *****...

Difficult to use, can't use it while in motion, poor map/image quality, no voice commands available, no satellite traffic, almost impossible to upgrade to anything better, the controls are ergonomically off and away from the driver, no backup camera integration, and very expensive.

ford's (microsoft's) sync system has excellent voice commands, easy to use, fast, integrates well with everything.

^^ Agreed, SYNC is my favorite OEM system. Used it in some rentals and it was very intuitive.

Ford's Sync system is badass.

Maybe the Avalon's system rating is due to a combination of it not being too great and its average owner being on the older side of the spectrum.

As long as Toyota/Lexus keep their nav lockout "feature" they can forget about getting a good satisfaction rating.

Venza's system is what all the new Toyotas are getting... thats latest gen for USA.

It is funny though that IS and RX are rated so differently yet dont they have same systems?
