Audi Q5?
I love this car, but I don't know anything about it. My cousin is thinking of getting one, I want to see some cool options/mods/colors/pictures ..etc.
Let me know please. |
There are picture of the Q5 all over the internet, shouldnt be hard to find. The coolest option or non-option is the standard panarama sunroof. there is also the optional Audi select a drive system which is pretty cool, you can push a button and change the suspension stiffness, transmsion shift map, throttle toe in map, steering stiffness and steering response ratio.
As far as mods are concerned, this SUV is too new, very few mods on the market for it yet. Overall, a great handling SUV, nice styling inside and outside, the ride is somewhat comfortable. The biggest draw back is cargo room, if your cousin need a lot of cargo room, he needs to look at something like the RX. |
Attractive, pricey, quick, handles well for an SUV, 1st year so beware... not staying on dealer lots long. Lots of tech....

Last time I heard, Audi is running the Q5 line in Germany 24 hours a day to try to meet demand, but the stock in our local Audi dealer is still very thin. |
the drive train, while solid, is my biggest problem since it's sort of dated, otherwise i think the car is pretty solid. i am a bit bummed by the exterior, i don't think it looks as good as the q7, but if i have to get a suv now, q7 and q5 will be high up on the list

The Q7 is very poorly design in my opinion. Much bigger than the Q5 from the outside and passenger room was almost the same. The Q7 had a bit more cargo space. We look at both SUV and wonder where all the space went in the Q7. If we were in the market for a full size SUV, the Q7 would have been pretty low on our list. |

You would think a dated German drivetrain would be prefered since all the bugs have been worked out, sad but true :)

Q7:
Length: 200.3 in. Width: 78.1 in. Height: 68.4 in. Wheel Base: 118.2 in. Ground Clearance: 8.1 in. Curb Weight: 5423 lbs. Interior Front Head Room: 40 in. Front Shoulder Room: 58.7 in. Rear Head Room: 37.2 in. Rear Shoulder Room: 58.1 in. Front Leg Room: 41.3 in. Rear Leg Room: 37.1 in. Luggage Capacity: 10.9 cu. ft. Maximum Cargo Capacity: 73 cu. ft. Q5: Length: 182.2 in. Width: 74 in. Height: 65.1 in. Wheel Base: 110.5 in. Ground Clearance: 7.9 in. Curb Weight: 4178 lbs. Gross Weight: 5456 lbs. Interior Front Head Room: 41.1 in. Front Shoulder Room: 57.7 in. Rear Head Room: 39 in. Rear Shoulder Room: 56.4 in. Front Leg Room: 41 in. Rear Leg Room: 37.4 in. Luggage Capacity: 29.1 cu. ft. Maximum Cargo Capacity: 57 cu. ft. As you can see, the Q7 is more than a foot and half longer and more than 4 inches wider, which is really bothersome because the Q5 is pretty wide as it is, but the interior passenger room is about the same, the Q5 actually have more headroom. For all that extra length, the Q7 should have more than that 14 cubic feet of cargo space. Like I said, where did all the space go? |

Every powertrain implementation is different from car to car, even if it is the "same" engine. That being said, Q5 looks awesome, and if you dont need much space at the back, it definetly looks like sweet buy. |
Another thought: consider Infiniti EX35? IMO opinion, no contest, much more all the way around for less $$.
Sales are down 42% this year on EXs so HUGE discounts right now... |
Thank you guys for the comments.
spwolf, holy ****, the forum topics are just scary to read!! :eek2: I have to point out: - My cousin is a she - She doesn't care much about cargo room, she just wants a small SUV - She doesn't like Japanese cars, trust me I tried - I don't think she wants any other car. Is the 2010 out yet? or too soon? |

If she doesn't like Japanese cars maybe she should check out the Mercedes GLK. That did pretty good on Consumer Reports latest survey. Or maybe the Cadillac SRX?
Since it's derived from current C-class, reliability should be acceptable. |
