USAA members get an additional 4 or 5 thousand dollars off the sticker price of the car.
I got a 1000 dollar USAA rebate on my Saturn Aura in addition to all the other discounts I got.

Not surprising the people trying to somehow save Benz face or whatever b/c people ARE INDEED catching these deals. Why wear the captain save a badge outfit? Halloween?
There are multiple people in this thread saying they were offered and BOUGHT the deal. Yet we have people trying to act like its not happening?
Is it that serious?
This is not unusual for vehicles at the end of their life. What makes this example any different, because of the badge?
I guess the AMG depreciation is made up too?

After all the discussion, I went down to the local MB dealer to check. I explained than my Lexus lease was up in early December and I was looking for a replacement. He showed me a base E350 (plastic interior and no NAV) which he would sell at $12K off list or about $35K. I told him that this was not in the ballpark for what I wanted and he produced a similar car with leather and NAV that he would sell for the same price if I would agree today.
There are deals out there if you want to deal with the MB problems and have the last generation car. My ES350 UL is a much nicer car than even the equipped E350 and has more back seat room and trunk space. The sales guy even hinted at a "deal" on the 2010 but by that time I was tired.
I went by today when they were closed and there were at least 12 2009 E350's on their lot. They may have more in the back where I could not see.

I think we all know he wouldn't be in denial if this thread wasn't regarding a car in his signature.
Also Dashocker wouldn't be in here if we were talking about a Japanese or US car.

I drove the last gen E350 for a week as a loaner, it was a nice German version of a better Buick. So I'm not surprised it took major incentives to move it, and I watched sales spiral down over the last several months.
Yes the whole thread is laughable and backward looking. Fortunately Mercedes is moving ahead and addressing areas needing improvement.

MB had $12k trunk money in the e class, add invoice pricing, plus dealers going into all of their holdback money and why are you so surprised about the final price?
and if you believe you can rely on dealers to always give you KBB values for a trade-in. LOL! yeah go try that and see what dealers say. LOL!

i think in the original post, some guys posted their bill of sale for proof. i got a 30% discount, do you not believe that either? just because you bought yours for much much more doesnt mean then deals are/were not happening recently.

FYI, I worked as salesperson for both Lexus and Mercedes Benz for over 5 years (that explains why I owned both cars) but I'm no longer in sales... I feel I have little more insight than you guys... that's all!!!
