Default 2010 GX 460, Pt. II

Let's not lead this thread to the point of closure...

Interior pic leaked and from what I understand the truck itself should be here very, very soon:

Definitely looks like a cross between 4Runner and LX. I cant wait to see the final product!

Also, looks like the new GX will not be getting Remote Touch, but sticking with a touch screen. This is actually just fine with me

If that is metallic painted plastic around the center stack then I am not really a fan. That stands the chance of looking mega-cheap, IMO. I wish they had used a bit more wood instead of painted plastic. Also, the area below the two ***** and in front of the shifter looks like an afterthought. What's up with that?

It also looks a LOT like the 4Runner in overall shape, and even some of the details:

About time they implemented a proper armrest. Minivan style armrests in the old one were horrible.

Strange that they didn't put Remote Touch on this.

^ Also odd that it doesn't even remotely follow the interior design direction that debuted in the 3RX which was allegedly going to spread to other vehicles.

It looks like they took interior designers from Land Rover, Ford, and Lexus and told them to compromise on a design.

It's not bad, but it's definitely more truck-looking than I expected. Overall without seeing it in person I think the RX interior looks more inviting and more traditionally Lexus-like.

I'd like to say it's a consequence of this car being based off a Toyota product (the Prado) thus making it not a ground-up Lexus design. Cheaper, and it works, but doesn't lend a sense of brand equity or solidarity in design or technology whatsoever.

I would be inclined to say the same but the RX is based off the Camry and the HS off the Avensis, and they both have newer looking interiors.

I'm certainly not complaining because I love the simplicity of this design and the absence of Remote Touch certainly doesn't bother me either. Just not what I expected...

I like the layout, and as always the materials look great. Also nice large navigation screen. I guess its touch screen as I don't see the mouse like in the RX.
