Yup. You're right.

That's why freight charges and dealer prep can add up to $3000 over the bike's cost when brand new.

OK, guys, if that's the case, then I just learned something. I didn't know that. I thought bikes were fully assembled (and tested) at the plant. Of course, bikes are not my forte, so I don't claim to be an expert on them. My thing is cars.
