Leave it to Mike to post an Acura ...

Is all of Acura a useless (after)market product?

I think in his eyes it is. I am not saying its my favorite brand but I do respect what they are doing.

I want to mention my F sport intake as a useless mod

I wouldn't say the illuminated sills qualify, since they come from the factory on the lux package.

Also, I'd say aesthetics is up there with performance, since both can effectively sell cars.

How about an "aftermarket sunroof"?

Please note: this is not having someone cut a hole in your roof and adding the sunroof mechanism...this is actually a MAGNET! Strictly for asthetics, if you can call it that.

Now there's some honesty. But the extra noise must be cool.

Aerodynamic mods of any kind that are non-functional at subsonic speeds. OK, the "look" is debatable, but intentionally attaching expensive plastic bits to your car to be sacrificed to speed bumps, sharp driveway entrances, and parking lot stops must be considered "conspicuous consumption" rather than an aero device. Not many Civics are capable of speeds at which the wings, undertrays, air dams and skirts produce significant downforce, and wings in particular apply what they do generate to the wrong end of the vehicle.

Ah well, one must sacrifice for one's (automotive) art!

Apparently there isn't much of that either.

Ok, no one has said it yet (I don't think ... I admit I've only skimmed the thread)

Yeah Shern mentioned that like 4 posts above yours. That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this thread. I really dislike those things. And you see them on the ugliest of vehicles too.

**Edit - How about them huge wings. Now that is usless if you know you're car is driven on the street and only the street.

How about Teddy-Bear wheels?

I can actually remember wheel/tire shops selling these.

And if that's not silly enough, look at this:
