Once Camaro production starts catching up with demand, I'm sure it will outsell the Mustang every month. Kudos for GM for finally getting a car right.
I doubt that GM can sustain the Camaro sales. I think it has a lot to do with pent up demand. The Camaro will probably sell well the first year but I expect it to tale off.

Oh yeah is it ever hurting them....the San Antonio plant is working at 1/4 capacity. Toyota first built two plants (Indiana) as well and then had to close Tundra production from the that plant. Then Toyota had to idle the plant for a few months...This current Tundra has been a nightmare for Toyota.

Ok, thanks. Like I said I dont really follow these threads much so wasn't sure and it just caught me off guard because when I have shopped BMW/MBZ or been with people shopping them, there never seemed to be short of incentives. Thanks for the clarification though.

I'm a little surprised on how many Tiburon's Hyundai is still selling these days...

Margin extremely close!
Exactly! The margin is very close between BMW and Lexus. As of year to date:

BMW-93,563
Lexus-90,060

Of course the sales leader is the RX then the ES. The IS is gaining ground. Maybe one day the IS will outsell the ES especially now that the IS line has grown, just bring in an IS fixed hardtop coupe and maybe bring back the IS sportcross (wagon) and of course an ISh (hybrid).

The ES has done well and has been around for a long time. Since it came out in 1990 the ES has sold over a million ES's worldwide. That's great.

The RX came out in 1999 and has sold over a million RX's worldwide too.

Congratulations Lexus. It's gonna be a tough battle to see who outsells who. Good luck to BMW and Lexus...

The Scion sales numbers are just awful! I don't like what they did to the xB and some of the other newer model(s) but I'm very surprised by how few they are moving.

Shanghai, July 3 (Gasgoo.com) China has outpaced the United States in auto sales in the first half of this year, making itself the largest auto market in the world - the beginning of what could be a lasting trend.

Official Chinese auto data for the first half comes out next week, but from January through May, Chinese auto sales already topped 4.96 million units, up 14.29 percent from a year earlier, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

The H1 sales figure of China's auto market is forecast at around 6 million, while for the whole year of 2009, the volume is expected to be somewhere between 10,130,000 and 10,300,000 autos, a CAAM report said.

On the other side of the Atlantic, the U.S. is reporting total sales for the first half of the year at 4.8 million vehicles, down 35.1 percent year on year, with bankrupted General Motors and Chrysler posting sales reduction of 40 and 46 percent respectively.

China has overtaken the U.S. as the largest auto market in the world in monthly sales this January. In 2006 China overtook Japan to become the world's second-largest vehicle market.

It is really great to see Ford do so well. I think they were #1 in Canada for the first time in like 50 years or something like that.

Way to go Ford!

Pure nonsense I spoke to a Toyota dealer that told me they have to turn away Tundra customers because they cannot get enough of these trucks to fill the demand for them. The reason is the factory will not produce enough of the trucks. If they would up production they would sell them.
