straight up. Cadillac came with a SC V8 and BMW answered with TT V10.

I amgine how easy it would be to add a sports exhaust, ecu retune, and 5 extra lbs of boost and that thing will make 700hp. I cant wait.
I have to give it to the Germans. They develop cars in a league that simply hasnt been explored by Japanese manufacturers

hello.......supra, skyline gt-r, 3000gt and countless others?

This is nothing new. I'd rather pay for an M5 that stuck with 500hp, but found a way to come in around 3700lbs or less, but still has a supremely rigid, strong and safe chassis. THAT would be more clever than just sticking a snail on a big engine and pouring on the boost.

Clearly, the M5 has competition other than the CTS-V. BMW expects fierce competition from Audi and Mercedes. Cadillac, though? Isn't that kind of like being the schoolyard bully, yet, getting your butt kicked by the 10 pound weakling? Competition from Audi and Benz, they can handle. Having to fight off a car built by a company that has no business building a European super sedan fighter, and losing, is like getting spit on. The M5 mentioned by the OP is an answer to Cadillac, not MB or Audi. Just my opinion.

I agree, because there's no such thing as too much.

And realistically later I might snap one up that's 2.5 years old for 1/2 price. It would make a great garage queen/weekend toy.

+1

Sounds like the perfect car to complete the garage....though a current gen might beat it there first.
