All This Talk About the C Class...
sharp as a pin!
lovin the AMG wheels and the black!
always been a MBZ fan, and im really loving the new designs theyre bringing out. the new C is a great looking car, unlike the C class of the past which really didnt strike me.

on the other hand, I just saw a black new one today that was debadged and it looked really really nice actually.
gas mileage is pretty bad in the car considering my awd RX can almost match it, minus 1-2 mpg
that is very true. the engine they have now in the C and in the new E is weak compared to competitors and doesnt have DI. I dont know why they didnt use the new engine from the SLK.

I agree, the DI engine from the SLK should be the next upgrade for the C-class.
The C-class easily outsold the slick A4 (which is not significantly faster than C350) and the IS series (which offers much more V6 horsepower than both). Obviously the key to success in the premium small sport sedan category involves more than just max horsepower.

the thing is that the new E class will also have this same 3.5 268hp.
so in theory, that E class isnt going to get the new engine for 2-3 more years, which means the C class shouldnt get it (but might) before the E. though MB has long production lifespans for their models

Lifespan of the model line(s) has nothing to do with engine upgrades, and both the C and E need the upgraded V6's.
But Mercedes has taken a better approach (engineering/design/reliability/quality) with the C-class and beyond and the effect is becoming more obvious to the owners and experts recently.
