Toyota’s third-generation Prius officially went on sale in Japan this week and to coincide with the launch the company also revealed several new styling packs under the guise of its in-house accessories brand Modellista.
Three different Modellista styling packs are available for the Prius - the Aero Tourer, Version 1 and Version 2 - and all three are available with a range of simple performance mods as well. The Aero Tourer is the sportiest of the trio, and comes with a custom front bumper, side skirts, and new exhaust tips.
As previously mentioned, the Prius in Japan can be fitted with a range of performance mods including lowered coil springs, a less restrictive muffler and 16in alloys. Importantly, none of the changes effect the car’s stellar fuel economy rating 51mpg in the city, 48mpg on the highway and a combined figure of 50mpg.
The parts are only offered in Japan and considering the limited availability of Modellista enhancements in other markets these upgrades are unlikely to arrive in local showrooms.
