This is a tad rediculous...
The easiest and most trouble free way to rack up a ton of miles is to do it in a short amount of time (on the highway of course).
TIME is just as much an enemy as miles are.
However, lot's of city driving is the absolute worst thing.
That's why both of our example above was accomplished with virtually no problems and just regular maintenance. 335,000 miles in 2 years, 9 months (Yaris) is a staggering amount of driving.
Translation:
10,151 mi/month
464 mi/day on a 6 day work schedule
Over 111 coast to coast (US) trips
Basically an 8-10 hour day on the highway 6 days a week for almost 3 years.

If that doesn't kill you, nothing will.

especially with drivers on the east coast. I would swear NY drivers are THE WORST EVER. I have driven in dallas, houston, salt lake city, detroit, chicago, indianapolis, Wash. DC, etc... and for some reason, NY always seems the worst.
sure the car is tough...but a lot of you are forgetting that about the work that the car is involved in...374xxx miles on a 3 year old car...that's 342 miles in a day!!!

Honda is a great car company and makes very nice cars that are reliable and fairly good looking. On the other hand, lets not hate hondas for what the ricers do to them... it is not the cars fault...it is the poor taste of many tuners that has earned this car a bad name. I had a 97 civic with 200k that ran like a charm... sold for more than what I bought it for never been more profitable in a automotive transaction than this one.
Good testament of the honda reliability.....

As for the car, my dad puts that kind of mileage on all his cars... just not to that crazy of an extent. He drives 100 miles a day to and from work. Not as crazy as that, but ~35k a year is still a wallop. His brand new 5 series already has just clicked over 50k while having owned it for about a year and a half.
Much props to ANYONE that believes in the mantra of buying a car to drive it and not stare at how low the odometer is...
As is, I'm a member of the 190K+ club...
Highway or not, that mileage is impressive. When you buy a Yaris, Civic, Corolla, etc, who the heck cares about which one will outlast the other. They're all great for these types of driving.
