$22k, 306HP, 87 Octane, 29mpg Camaro Debuts!
Short answer ignoring the above semantics, the Challenger is bigger and heavier than equivalent Camaro as others have pointed out..
Of course not exactly, that's why I said "based on" meaning derived from. This practice of cars derived from versions of a certain chassis can be seen throughout the industry, the GS/IS are just a couple of examples.

Yes, to some extent, the Challenger does seem a little larger than the Camaro, though I have to base that estimation on just what I saw at the D.C. Auto show, where the 2 Camaros on display (one RS and one SS) were roped off and locked. Chevy kept them literally under lock and key and wouldn't open them up, even on request. The excuse was that they were pre-production models and the interior was not finalized.
The main difference, though, dimension-wise, between the Camaro and Challenger (based on my Challenger R/T review last year and what I saw at the D.C. show in February) seemed to be in height more than anything else. The Challenger, with its roof, hood, and trunk-lid height, seemed to sit higher than either the Mustang or Camaro.
Apparantly not. The local Chevy people here in the D.C area tell me delivery wll start, around here, in about 3-4 weeks.....towards the middle of April. It is still unclear, however, which models will be shipped first.......RS, SS, or both.
From the picture, it is apparant that SS models are now in production, because, according to Chevy, literature, yellow is only available on the SS line, and there are obviously a lot of yellow ones stuck in there on that storage lot.

compared to a 240sx ( I dont care if you got the red top or a freakn RB ) or a 1995 SC300 with a 2JZ swap, it is a much nicer car and a car that owners of the 2 listed cars should aspire to own one day. Step into this century man .
By the way I drive a GS350. I have stepped up from the G35. The GS 350 you can probably set your sights on as well if you want to step into this century .LOL

OK.....I'm sorry if I sounded like I was nitpicking (I tend to be so detail-oriented that it sometimes gets the best of me).

I've seen both cars up close, but I agree it's hard to judge dimensions at a glance.
The main differences in size are, in order of magnitude, length (about 7"), wheelbase (about 4"), height (about 3"). But in short the Camaro is more right-sized or international-sized, a nice plus in today's competitive market.

Before making bold claims you should take a drive in your "Manuel" 90's Lexus to your nearest Infiniti dealer because their G37 and M35/45 models will make your "Luxurious" 92 Lexus look like a Kia in comparison.
When was the last time you looked at an Infiniti? Early 90's?

I was blown away by the comments as well.
